An armed robbery in Bonnyville saw two people charged and another still wanted.

On Thursday morning at 7:20am, Bonnyville RCMP received a call regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred. A female and two male suspects entered a residence in the 5500 block of 55 Street and severely beat one of the residents inside with a weapon, robbed him of his belongings, and fled, police say.

Aided by Police Dog Services and the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (EAD CRU), the Bonnyville RCMP found and arrested one of the male suspects within three hours of the original call at a residence in Kehewin.

An arrest warrant was sought and granted for the second male, who was located the next morning at a residence in Bonnyville.

Stacey Moosepayo, 39, of Kehewin, and Kristopher Funk, 42, of Bonnyville, each face charges of Robbery with a Firearm, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Breaking and Entering, Mischief under $5000, Theft under $5000, and Possession of Stolen Property under $5000.

Moosepayo was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody and his first appearance in court is January 24th. Funk is awaiting his bail hearing at press time on Friday.

A third suspect remains wanted by police and the investigation continues.
